Celebrating Sailing at the Volvo Yachting Excellence Awards 2019

Propspeed would like to give a huge congratulations to all the winners, as well as the nominees, from the night.

On November 8th, the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron hosted the Volvo Yachting Excellence Awards 2019. It was a great night celebrating the achievements of the sailing community, as well as the volunteers and staff that make it possible. Propspeed would like to give a huge congratulations to all the winners, as well as the nominees, from the night.

This year, Propspeed was presented with the opportunity to sponsor a new award, the Propspeed Sustainability Award. Our message at Propspeed is “Better Boats, Better Oceans,” and so we were excited for the opportunity to sponsor the Sustainability Award and recognise the hard work of those helping to create a sustainable future. We’d like to give a huge congratulations to the Wakatere Boating Club and thank them for the fantastic work they are doing.

We would also like to give a special congratulations to the NZ Sailing Trust for winning the Lawson’s Dry Hills President’s Award.

The Lawson’s Dry Hills President’s Award recognises the work done by an organisation, individual or yacht club in promoting, supporting or developing the interests of yachting in New Zealand.

NZ Sailing Trust wins the Lawson's Dry Hills President's Award

The NZ Sailing Trust is a superb organisation and plays a vital role in preserving the legacy of historic sailing vessels Steinlager2 and Lion NZ, as well as inspiring a new generation of young sailors, helping to nurture the future of New Zealand’s maritime industry.

The NZ Sailing Trust holds a special place in our hearts and as a sponsor, it is great to see the incredible work they do be recognised by this award.
