The Light Up Your Halloween launch event at the US Superyacht Association (USSA) American Pavilion begins with a special presentation from Captain Lightspeed and our Part-Time Pirate at 5 pm followed by the Ultimate Cocktail Competition from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Oceanmax, our underwater light partners and several U.S. shipyards will go head to head to concoct the best signature cocktail in an interactive tasting and judging event sponsored by Crown Wine & Spirits. The event is free but requires attendees to register.

Light Up Your Halloween unveils Oceanmax’s newest product, Lightspeed, the first aftermarket coating for underwater lights. For two decades, the New Zealand-based marine company has led the foul-release category with Propspeed, a gold-colored coating that deters marine growth on propellers and running gear. Propspeed’s silicone topcoat prevents barnacles, mussels, seaweed and algae from attaching to underwater metals, and the company is taking a similar approach to protecting underwater lights, which can easily be damaged while cleaning away hard marine growth.

In addition to the USSA launch party, Oceanmax will be in the Yellow Zone Marine Equipment Tent at booths 527–528 throughout the show, which runs October 31 through November 4.

The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS), presented annually by the Marine Industries Association of South Florida (MIASF), is the largest in-water boat show in the world. Attendees can explore more than 3 million square feet across seven waterfront locations via a network of water and ground transportation services. With more than 1,500 boats on display, the show draws more than 110,000 visitors and 1,200 exhibitors from 52 countries.
