Propspeed Brazil Rallies Food Donations
The team in São Paulo recently held an on-water “fun run” to promote marine sports and raise food supplies for two local charities.
On Saturday August 18, Propspeed Brazil organized a boat rally sponsored by Jet Lounge Marina and the Yamaha Jet Co in Guaruja, São Paulo. The event’s purpose was threefold, aimed at promoting nautical tourism on the coast of São Paulo, inspiring new audiences to get into boating and water sports, and gathering food for local charities. Boats registered free of charge, with rally organizers requesting a two-kilo donation of food per person in lieu of fees. The first-time event soon snowballed, taking on a life of its own as participants generously donated well above the minimum.
Says Januario Gagliardi, president of Marine Coating, Propspeed’s South American distributor, “It was a great success! In total, 1.7 tons of food was collected and donated to the Social Solidarity Fund of Guarujá and the Eno Gregório Antunes charity house for the Elderly.”

Rally participants departed from the Jet Lounge Marina bound for Tropical Marina, a course of approximately 27 kilometers, with strategic stops for regrouping, assistance and rehydration along the way. The fleet included 12 boats and 261 jet skis—a national record.
“This is just one example proving the enormous potential of nautical pursuits,” says Januario. The historic day, covered by local media, “will be remembered by team Propspeed Brazil. Propspeed Brazil is proud to collaborate on worthy causes like this, which show us the essence of life on board while providing an environment for the exchange of experiences."
