2018 Southampton Boat Show
Grapefruit Graphics’ marine coatings division is poised to launch Propspeed retail kits at the upcoming recreational boating event. Enter to win one of two!
From 14 to 23 September, Grapefruit Coatings, Propspeed’s UK distributor, will be exhibiting at Britain’s biggest and best festival of boating, which happens to be in their very own backyard. This 50th edition of the Southampton Boat Show, presented by theYachtMarket.com, will showcase boats, products and services from more than 600 global marine brands.
The central feature of the show, held at Southampton’s Mayflower Park, is its purpose-built marina, one of Europe’s largest, featuring over two kilometres of pontoons displaying more than 330 boats. Among these will be the Amel 50, named European Yacht of the Year in the Luxury Cruiser Category at Boot Düsseldorf back in January, making her UK debut at berth 261.
This year also marks Grapefruit’s first appearance at the Southampton Boat Show: “Grapefruit is excited to be exhibiting, as the show is a great platform for marine industry networking and a great way for us to build awareness of our business and the products we offer,” says chief operating officer Mike Webb. “We are proud to be showcasing vinyl hull wraps, innovative Renolit Maritime film coatings for above- and below-waterline applications, and Propspeed, Oceanmax’s industry-leading coating for propellers and running gear.”
Grapefruit will also be introducing Propspeed DIY kits, available in 200ml and 500ml sizes, at the massive 10-day, consumer-focused event. To boost awareness of the new offering, they’ll be giving away two 500ml DIY kits. To enter, simply stop by the Grapefruit stand and register your details.
Joining the Grapefruit team and lending his technical expertise is Oceanmax international sales manager Chris Gibbs, hot off his appearance at the Cannes Yachting Festival, from 11 to 16 September. Come see Chris and the guys from Grapefruit at Stand J016 to learn more about how Propspeed reduces haul-out maintenance and fuel burn to benefit recreational boaters and commercial operators alike.
Family-friendly entertainment on offer includes the historic three-masted barque Kaskelot, mini marina cruises, RIBs for people to try out, live music and a cooking demonstration by the Hairy Bikers, Si King and Dave Myers, on 22 September, with a curated three-course menu available at the Mariner’s Grill restaurant throughout the show.
The show is open daily from 10am to 6:30pm, other than its final day, when it closes at 6pm.
