Hornblower Cruises & Events, John James Audubon
This third-largest chartered yacht in the New York Hornblower fleet is now cruising in even greater comfort, with the added fouling protection of Propspeed.
Propspeed was selected by Hornblower Cruises & Events New York as the coating system for the John James Audubon, a 125-foot cruise and dinner boat berthed on the Hudson River in Lower Manhattan. Twin 48-inch four-bladed propellers were coated with Propspeed under the direction of Mark Billingsley, Oceanmax’s East Coast technical and sales support manager, as she sat in dry dock at the Yank Marine facility in Tuckahoe, New Jersey. Mark supervised the application, which was completed by personnel from both Yank Marine and Hornblower. Also in attendance and lending his support to the application was Steve Grivnovics, territory manager from West Marine Pro.
Propspeed has already been used on a number of boats in Hornblower’s San Diego and San Francisco fleets, but the John James Audubon is the first of the New York fleet to get the gold-star treatment. We expect the New York branch of Hornblower will soon reap the same performance and efficiency benefits that their California counterparts have.
The John James Audubon is 145 feet long and can accommodate up to 425 guests on three decks, providing panoramic views of the New York skyline and full amenities for weddings, corporate events and private parties.
